How did it start?

The idea for SwapMyMood began at the SHARE Military Initiative at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The SHARE Military Initiative provides comprehensive rehabilitation care to military veterans and active-duty service men and women who are living with mild-moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) and co-occurring psychological health conditions. The Team at SwapMyMood is grateful for the insight and feedback provided by the men and women who have participated in the SHARE program and helped to make SwapMyMood what it is now.

How does it work?

SwapMyMood guides users through multiple steps involved in an intervention for problem-solving (SWAPS) and emotion regulation (Emotion Cycle). The app gives the option to save personalized solutions to problems that proved effective for quick reference in future situations. This feature also functions as a method of providing the user with feedback about actions that have previously been successful in helping them with problem-solving and emotion regulation. Links to supportive resources and tips are integrated throughout, and effective, personalized interventions can be saved for reference in future situations.
